The first game of our 2010 season  did not turn out as we planned as we took a loss to the visiting  Middlesex Vikings. The game started  out slowly as both teams were feeling eachother  out. After our first possession  we punted  and the defense did will stopping them as OLB David Gill recorded a sack to force 3rd and long. On the 3rd down the defense flushed the qb out of the pocket and forced him into a rushed deep pass.  Our lb  Eric Johnson got to the ball and deflected it in the air but a Viking player caught the ball and went out  of bounds at the  8 yd line.  Four plays from the 8 and our defense stopped them on fourth down at the 1. Offense then took over at the one moved the ball to midfield mostly on a  deep pass interference call on a pass to veteran receiver  "Disco" .  We were unable to do much else after that as the rain began to really come down. The turning point in the game came when as the Vikings were marching down the field got the ball to our 13 yd line and were faced with a 4th and one. They went for it and our SS Jamal "JR" Boyd shot in and caused a fumble. The ball popped into the air and a Viking receiver  plucked  it out of the air and ran it in for a td. After a LOOONNNGG  discussion by the refs ( who were unsure of the  rule) they awarded  the Vikings with  the td.  The Vikings got a late td  after injuries to our starting DT, MLB, and SS caused the defense to weaken  in the middle  so thats where they attacked.  Final score  Vikings 14 - Storm 0.
